New Ammonite Fossil Necklaces

I have long been fascinated with Ammonites along with other fossils, pebbles and rocks. I love to spend time on beaches all around our coast, looking at the myriad of colours and patterns. There seems to be an amazing range of colours and patterns that provide a seemingly endless source of inspiration. Sometimes I have been fortunate to discover fossils, and ammonites are always my special favourite. I have just finished working on some new enamel Fossil necklaces. They use the champlevé technique, with a hand engraved texture behind the enamel. I begin with selecting semi precious beads on which the finished necklace will hang. The beads can be removed so the silver and enamel fossil can be worn on a chain instead of the beads. I then select the Enamels that I will use to echo the colours on the beads. Each piece will have multiple firings to achieve the depth of colour, before the whole piece is ground and polished to finish.
