Critter of the Month – August 2013

Here is my entry for August for my Critter of the Month. Hope you don’t think I am cheating by using a creature that became extinct millions of years ago as my inspiration! It is a Sterling silver Ammonite Fossil on a simple wire cuff. I have pierced the central spiral with a fine blade and given both the cuff and the fossil a hammered finish with a ball-pein hammer. I gave them both a soft satin finish and then use a burnisher to highlight the raised areas. This is part of a new range of work for me and will be available at the Surrey Guild Gallery and in my Folksy shop. Hope you like my new Silver Ammonite Fossils.
